MARION DAVIES IN “MARIANNE”.
Local movie-goers will be pleased to know .that at the next change of programme at- the Princess Theatre, tonight.; Marion Davies will re-appear, .her. newest Metro-Gold wyn-Mayer starring vehicle being “Marianne,” an original story for the screen. Incidentally, it is Marion Davies’ first all-talk-ing feature. - ■\“Mariahne” is a story about a Frejicfi {peasant girl who tried her hardest, to keep Allied soldiers at arms’ length at the end of the wai, but finished up by marrying one of therh—Jin spite of the fact that she once had a French soldier sweetheart of her own.
Marianne’s destiny is. first influenced by the billeting ;pf a company of soldiers in her barnyard, and the noise, soldiery songs, funny little stories, stolen organ music, etc., doesn’t die down until Marianne rescues the man she loves' from the guardroom cells,.
