ROAD THREATENED

CRACK DEVELOPED. (By Telegraph—Presa Association) GISBORNE, January 7. It is reported that a crack has developed in Tarewa Hill, which is on the main road between Wairoa and Gisborne. There is no immediate danger, but it is liable to be dangerous; later on, especially if heavy rain sets in. This portion of the road is precarious at the best of times ) and the year before last there was a fifteenacre slip and the road was blocked for some time.-
