At the opening of the Stock Exchange at Hong Kong, to-day, the dollar reached one shilling, which is the lowest ever recorded. The community is gravely concerned at the collapse of silver. The outlook is of the darkest. The dollar it is predicted, will yet reach ten pence or lower. BRITISH COAL DISPUTE. LONDON, January 6. The South Wales miners and coal owners agreed to meet Hon. air Graham (President of the Board of Trade) and Hon. Mr Shinwell (Assistant Labour Minister) to-morrow in order to consider a basis of discussion for a further meeting of the Coneili ation Board.

Thieves broke open the glass case enclosing the sarcophagus in the crypt of Faarevigle Church containing the remains of Both well, the husband of Mary Queen of Scots. They were, however, disappointed in their expectation of finding jewels.
EGYPTIAN TRIALS. (Received this day nt 11.30 a.tn.) CAIRO, January 7. Mansura Assize Court passed judgment on sixty-eight Egyptians arrested in Mansura riots on August Bth. involving the deaths of two policemen and six citizens, acquitted all the accused of manslaughter of the constables. They liberated nine and sentenced seven to nine lashes, three to fifteen days imprisonent, nine to a year apiece and the others to four months hard labour.
