Thousands of sterling damage was done when a fire destroyed five shops in the main street of Euroa. The structures, all of wood, were reduced to ashes in a short time.

Three shops also were damaged at Omeo. The damage is estimated at £7OOO. In one the family escaped with difficulty in night attire.
