Grave fears are felt for the safety of Air-Pilot iCaptain W. Pittendrugh, and a mining expert, M. S. Hamre, who have been missing in an arid paru of Central Australia, for twelve days. They were . engaged in mineral exploration, and left Alice • Springs on. December 24 to join other members of their party, camped 300 miles away at Ilbilba.. They were last seen by local aborigines, flying well off their course .Pittendrugh is a British pilot, and more recently was an instructor in aviation at Mascot, Sydney; while Hamre is a resident of Pethersham, Sydney. ■ Search planes have left for the scene. • 1 • YACHT RACE.
