~ AEROPLANE TRAGEDY
BRISBANE, -December 31
2 1 The -.VStar of - C-airns,” was leaving Maryborough for Brisbane, when it nose dived and struck the ground with terrific force. Pilot B. P;—Davidgot) .was. killed instantly. A paggenjfer, Heury Higgins, was satally injured.' The nleclhanic, William Headland, was badly injured. JThd .monoplane, had ,qome from Bundabdrg with one engine causing trouble. Repairs "were effected-, hut the engined seemed slow to warm up for a fresh start. Finally the pilot made a- good take-off, ' but apparently' one engine silled after going a few hundred yards. The pilot was the son of ViveAdmiraT Davidson; and saw service in the ‘Naval Air Force. Mr Higgins is a reporter'6ri ! the Townsville Bulletin.
