MOTOR VICTIM DIES. (By Telegraph—Press Association). HAMILTON, December 30. Joseph Muir, who was injured in a motor smash at Morrinsville recently, when the car lie was" driving crashed into a pole, succumbed to injuries. TARANAKI MOTOR TRAGEDY. NEW PLYMOUTH, December 30. Thrown over a hedge when a car skidded and capsized, Mrs E. M. Craig of Wanganui, was killed at Waihi Road, near Hawera. The car flamed, but the other two occupants, Mrs McCabe (sister of Mrs Craig) and the driver, their nephew, Eric Foster, of Wanganui, were not seriously injured. BOY DROWNED. AUCKLAND, December 30. A drowning accident resulting in the death of Robert Allan Sutherland, aged nine years and eleven months, of Grey Lynn, occurred in Cox’s Creek tidal estuary on the western harbour front this afternoon. Numerous other young children were bathing in the vicinity at the time, the tide being on the ebb. It is not clear how the accident happened, but is thought the hoy had a seizure while in the water. A mail who was bathing in the vicinity noticed several children holding the lad with a view to keeping his head above water. He took the hoy ashore, and tried resuscitation methods, hut without success. A doctor was summoned, hut further resuscitation efforts also failed. A FATALITY. MASTERTON, December 30. A Borough employee, John Alexander Butcher, who received head injuries on December 22nd, as the result of falling near a Borough rubbish van. and having his face crushed against the kerbing, died this afternoon.
