CRICKET
QUEENSLAND CRICKET ASSOCIATION. (Australian Press Association.) (Received this dav at 12.26. p.m.) BRISBANE, December 30. It is learned if the Queensland Cricket Association attempts to discipline the team which returned from the southern tour for having appointed its own selectors the players will refuse to meet the West Indies team on January I.oth, The manager Allen and Captain Gough had nothing to say and the officials of the Association refuse to discuss the trouble. THE CRICKET HERO. LONDON, Dec. 30. The “Daily Herald” in an article entitled, “Hands Off Bradman,”, says he is evidently suffering from a combination of hero worship and official irritation. Apart from one brilliant innings, be has dropped. entirely from the superb standard he displayed in England. In fact one half of Australia expected him to score effortless centuries. The ocher half regards Bradman as a bad boy. This must have an adverse mental effect on one who for all is a mere school boy. Everyone wishes Bradman a quick and safe delivery from officialdom. He is an asset to the cricket world.
