RADIO PROGRAMME

MONDAY, DECEMBER. 20th.
The Jazz Band of the “R.M.S. Rangitiki” will play for IYA this evening. The Bohemian Duo will also contribute to the evening’s programme. The other artists are all popular performers from Station 2YA, Wellington. Mr Si. E. Rodger, (a very fine baritone), Mr Sam Duncan (lyric tenor and a member of the famous Melodie Four) and Miss Linnie Nicholas and Mr V. Evans (sketch artist).
Introduced to 2YA listeners will be Mrs Daisy Basham, a lecture-recitalist who is a regular performer at IYA. On this occasion Mrs Basham will speak on “Wagner” and will be associated with Mr Ernest Short. Mr Jock Lockhart,. Scottish entertainer, of Christchurch, will give his second recital. Mr Clement May, the eminent English elocutionist and Dickensian artist, is also appearing on this programme in a recital from the works of Dickens, 0. Henry and A. A. Milne. The other supporting artists will be Mrs King and Mr Les. Stapp, both artists of merit. The Orchestrina, under Signor A. P. Truda., will contribute to the programme.
A recital by Mr Rex Harrison, baritone, with an Australian and New Zealand reputation, will he featured on 3YA’s programme. On the same programme will be Miss G. Brooks (soprano) and Mr Harold Shaw will recite “A Fallen Star” and “I Understood.” On the instrumental side of the entertainment, a capital programme will be provided by the Woolston Band under Conductor R. J. Estall. Bandsman Ohlsen will contribute a cornet solo.
An instrumental trio, consisting of Misses Holmes. Judd and Moffat, will provide a series of very pleasing items from 4YA. The contributing soloists will be Miss Mae Matheson (soprano), Miss Irene Horniblow (contralto), Mr H. Johnston (tenor) and Mr Jack Blair (songs at the piano). Miss E. MoPeak will give elocutionary numbers. TUESDAY. DECEMBER 30th, The programme from IYA this evening will include songs by . Madame Mary Towsey (mezzo-soprano), and Mr John Bree (baritone). A Topical Talk by Mr A. B. Chappell and items by the Orchestral Octet under the direction of Mr Harold Baxter, one of the orchestral numbers being a selection from “The Gondoliers.” will also be featured on this programme. The Melodie Four, Mrs R. S. Allwright, Reno and Arta (xylophone novelties), Mr C. P. McKenzie (humorist) and the Salon Orchestra will furnish a popular programme from 2YA. The Dunedin Tramways Baud, under Mr Charles Morgan, will be heard from 4YA. A well-varied programme will he presented comprising marches, a selection of Scottish songs, a humoresque, waltzes and a foxtrot. • The vocalists will be Miss F. Elm.es, Miss G. Burt, Mr E. Drake and Mr F. C. Woods. Silent day at 3YA.
