Grave developments followed an. outbreak of rioting in the" Sharrowaddy District in Baime and news reaching Rangcion proves the insurgents have become daring. H. Fields Claike, a forest engineer, was murdered by rebels who attacked his bungalow firing it. A company of Buffs regiment has been rushed from Rangoon to join the Indian infantry and the Military Police. The insurgents were driven into a jungle after a stubborp fight. Tlie rebels,, , who. are well armed, .are adopting .guerillp warfare, rendering the task of the troops more diflicult.
