For the concluding days of the Manawatu races the weather is dull and warm and attendance and course good. Hurdles:—(2) Otairi (McDonald) 1; (1) Aurora Borealis 2 ; (3) Discourse. 3. Also started Lady Alophen. Won by four lengths - twenty lengths. Time 3.18 4-5. • Apprentices Handicap : —(1) Laconic (W. Broughton) 1; (5) Fitzquex 2; (3) Lady ltene. All started. Won by three-quarters of a length. Time 1.27 4-5. Juvenile Handicap:—(4) Sporting Chance (Goulsboro) 1; (1) Isa 2; (2) Pythia. 3. Scr. Acorn, AH Humbug. Won by one and a-half lengths; a neck. Time 1.1 1-5. Liverpool Handicap : —(7) Royal Parade (Burgess) 1; (1) White Fang 2; (8) Mount Shannon 3. Scr. Don Jose. Won by half a head; two lengths. Time 1.54. AUCKLAND RACES. SECOND DAY RESULTS. AUCKLAND, December 29. Warm weather, track hard and fast for the second day of the Auckland races, and good attendance. Ferguson Handicap:—(6) Gold Day 1; (9) Karangapi 2; (2) Tobacco Land 3. Scr. Paratoo. Won by four lengths; a neck. Time 1.38 4-5. Kings Plate:—(s) Karapoti 1; (2) Hunting Cry 2; (4) Toxeuma 3. Scr. Sargon. Time 1.36 3-5, equalling Thespian’s record when he beat Gloaming in the Islington Plate at Ellerslie in 1921. Ponsonby Hurdles: —(1) Clnrernor-. 1 : (12) Absent 2; (7) St. Warrigal 3.. All started. Won by three lengths; two lengths. Time 3.46 3-5.
