DOMINION’S UNEMPLOYED
DECREASE ON PREVIOUS WEEK.

NEW PLYMOUTH Dec. 29
A decrease on the previous week’s total of the number of unemployed registered for the week ending December 22, is revealed. The figures supplied last night by the Minister of Labour (Hon. S. G. (Smith) total for the week of 11,371 and that for the previous week 11,442, a decrease of 71.
Details of registrations at labour bureaux and Post Offices in the main centres, with the previous week’s figures in parenthesis, are: Auckland 3113 (3103). Wellington 1735 (1854). Christchurch 1835 (1771). Dunedin 082 (687). Invercargill 192 (216). Of the 11,371 registrations for the Dominion 6,715 men are with dependents and 4,656 men without.
