AQUATICS
REGATTA AT LAKE KANIERI. A speed boat regatta was held at Lake Kanieri on Christinas Day in perfect weather conditions and before a large at tendance. There was some interesting racing and exciting finishes. After the two heats or the Mclntosh Cup (the first heats having been run off sometime ago,) Mr F. Andrew’s “Merry Moments” having secured the highest aggregate was announced the winner. “The Buzz Off,” being the runner-up. Results were as follows . Third lmat, 3 miles, Mclntosh Cup; Ist ; Robinson’s “Pitapat” lj F. Andrew’s “Merry Moments, 2; C. Collyer’s “Buzz Off” 3. Five starters. Time 8 mill 441? secs. Fourth heat, 3 miles: C. Collyer’s “Buzz Off” 4; J. A. Robinson’s “Pitapat” 2; F. Andrew’s “Playmate,” 3. Six .starters. Time 10mm. 33 4-ssec. L. Gooch’s “Wasp” finished seond but was disqualified. B. Class Championship, 3 miles: F. Andrew’s “Doubtlul” 4, J. N. Robinson’s “Pit-a-Pat” 2, F. Collyer’s “So Long” 3. Four starters. Time 7-inin. lOsocs. L. Class Championship : F. Andrew’s “Meri'v Moments ” 4, L. Gooch’s “Wasp” 2. Time Gmin. 18secs. The “Pit-n-Pat,” the only other starter ; broke down, and took no part in the race. R. Class Handicap: I l '. Andrew’s “Doubtful ” I ; F. Collyer’s “So Long” 2; F. Andrew’s “Playmate” 3. Four starters. Time 6 min *SB 2 -n sees. The best race of the day, amt an exciting finish. All the boats finished within a few seconds of one aunt her.
