VOTE TO BE DOUBLED. (By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, December 23. An unofficial statement from an authoritative source is to the effect that it is the present intention of the Government to increase the military aviation vote by a large sum next year. This year’s vote for the Air Force was £40,846, and it is understood that this will be almost doubled for 1931-32. Such a decision is stated to be in conformity with the Government’s determination to encourage the air' arm of the national defence system and to extend its activities. AVIATION. WELLINGTON. December, 23. Miss Aroha Clifford, the New Zealand aviatrix, in a letter to Captain Steelman, of Wellington Aero Club stated definitely that she would not attempt an England to Australia flight. The reason is that her father is strenuously opposed to the venture.
