ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION
GOVERNOR OF BOMBAY. TWO SHOTS HIT. HIM. Press Association— By Electrio Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received this dav at 10 a.m.) DELHI, Dec. 23. An attempt to assassinate Sir Geo. Geoffrey De Montmareney, Governor of Punjab, was made this afternoon, as he was leaving Punjab University Hall at Lahore after a eon vocation. Six shots were fired near the- gate. Two 'struck the Governor, one in the hack and the other in the left hip. Another shot hit a Sub-Inspector of Police, the bullet passing through his neck. A fourth wounded another policeman, and a fifth wounded a woman.
