RADIO PROGRAMME

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 19th. lYA’s programme this evening will be a specially novelty pot-pourri entitled, “Just Our Way,” to be given by a party of entertainers known as “The Passers-By” under the direction off Mr J. F. Montague. This will be a programme of novel and delightful surprises and listeners can be assured of a very bright and intertain ing programme.
Novelty items will be much in evidence on 2YA’s programme. Miss Gretta Stark will be heard in solos from musical comedies, Mr Billy Hart will contribute a group of popular songs at the piano, whistling solos will be featured by Mr E. T. Feeney, arid the humorous portion of the programme will be .Mr Lawrence Searle’s contribution. Mr Lad Haywood, a popular instrumentalist, will play a. group of mandola and mandolin solos. The Orchestrina under Signor A. P. Truda, will play incidental music. A varied programme ' comprising items by the Christchurch Broadcasting Trio, Airs Ralph Sierokowski (soprano), Mrs A. E. G. Lyttle (mezzosoprano), Mr Douglas Suckling (tenor), Air Jack Blair (songs at the piano), Afiss Irene Morris (violiniste), Mr A. Hodgson (banjolinist) and Mr L. T. J. Ryan (humorous reciter.)
A saxophone band playing bright snappy numbers will bp a feature of 4YA’s concert. A recital in Irish dialect will be given by Miss E. AT. Holland. Mr .T. Aloore ' v 'lson will provide piano novelties. Afiss Lettie de Clifford (soprano), Afiss G. Burt (contralto) Mr G. Crawford (tenor) and Air Jack Clark 'baritone) will be the singers. SATURDAY. DECEMBER 20. From the Auckland Town Hall this evening, a concert devoted mainly to Christmas music to be given bv the Auckland Municipal Band, will be Broadcast by IYA. A bright vaudeville programme will be broadcast from 2YA this evening. The Salon Orchestra, under Mr AT. T. Dixon, will play selections from light onerns and dance .novelties. Novel t*' instrumental items will be given by AD Tj. W. Probert and ATr ,T. Blacknooci. the former contributing xylophone solos and the latter piano-accordion numbers. The Lvrie Quartet an’df Afrs Bruce Baker will contribute the vocal portion of the programme, ancf Afr Len Ashton, the popular entertainer, will be heard in humorous items. Popular singers singing a .variety o e songs, Titchcner humour, clarinet soles, and popular music by the Studio Octet .will .make up the concert. The vocalists will be Afrs L. B. Salkeld (soprano). Afrs Sen Jowett (mezzosoprano), Afr Leslie Stewart (baritone). The clarinetist will be Mr E. Withers. The novelty pianist, Afr R. G. Napier, will be- heard from 4YA. Qn the same ,programme other new artists to appear wi 11 be, Afrs P. A. Isaacs (mezzo-soprano), Mr W. AV. Holmes (accordion artist), and Afr Frank Benton (baritone). An orchestral octet will present bright numbers, including marches, intermezzos, barcarolles, selections and a slow intermezzo entitled “Rain or Shine.” This particular item of a gavotte type, with a suggestion of a foxtrot, is very modern.
