AIR MAIL TENDERS
NOT ACCEPTABLE. By Telegraph—Per Press Association.' AUCKLAND, Dec. 16. None of the four tenders for the carriage of airl mails between Auckland and Dunedin have beeh accepted by the Government-. The PostmasterGeneral said •to-day that unless some more satisfactory offer was made, there was no chance of an air mail service.
Although it had been made clear that the Government would not grant a subsidy, yet the tenders submitted called ’for a definite grant of a sum out of all reason. It should be dearly .understood tTiat the Government were not going to give subsidies 'to enable companies to be floated.
