MYSTERIOUS BLAST

A message from Los Angeles says the fashionable M-alihu Beach, the arcadia of film stars and wealthy business and professional folk, was shaken by a mysterious blast and ravaged by a resultant fire, early on Monday morning. Eighteen residences and other property was destroyed. The damage is estimated eight hundred thousand dollars. ... ’
The '.occupants, including many week-end guests were driven into the biting morning cold in meagre attire. The blast occurred near the home ot George De Svlva, the song writer. The fire burned for three hours. NEW YORK, Deo. 15.
A Los Angeles message states:— Among those who lost their homes, are Louise Fazenda, Marie Provost, Allen Duncan, George De Sylva, James Malcolm Taylor and Oliver Marsh.
