LATEST INCREASE. v (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.^ AUCKLAND, December 15. ( There was ail in crease of 1092 over the previous week’s total in the number of unemployed registered in New Zealand for the week ended December Bth, according to a statement issued by the Minister of Labour, Hon. S’. 6. Smith.
The latest week’s total was 9630, the highest figures since thd records of registration have been kept. Details of registrations at the Labour Bureaux and Post Offices with the previous week’s figures in parentheses, are as follows: Auckland 2625 (2329). Wellington 1221 (1200). Christchurch 1671 (1389). Dunedin 742 (517). j
Invercargill 213 (184). Of the registrations for the five main centres, 3712 are of men with dependents, and 2760 of men without dependents.
