N.Z. RUGBY UNION. I WANTS AUSTRALIA'S PROFIT. (U istralian Press AssutaaLiou./ SYDNEY, Dec. 16. Commenting on the action of the New Zealand Rugby Union in insisting upon the Australian unions remit ting to New Zealand forty per cent of the grow gate receipts of the British Rugby matches played here, tin "Sun” newspaper directs attention to the fact, that New Zealand derived the enormous profit of thirty thousand sterling from that tour, and it adds:— "It was confidently expected that the Australian States would have been permitted to retain the whole of the small profits made here, thus enabling Queensland and Victoria to balance their ledgers.” It continues j—" The repeated professions' of the New Zealand Union that ,it is keen to foster the game in Queensland and Victoria, are shown t: be. merely matter' of words.
