Smart police work in the heart of Hong Kong Chinese quarters effectively stopped a Red rising. Following an order of a Chinese detective, the police discovered a plot for a Red rising start, ing in a Chinese hotel. Unknown to tbe Reds, the waiters were suddenly chnn'gifor detectives, whilst in the .streets mingled with the crowds were a hundred detectives disguised as beggars, hawkers etc.
The police had information that the signal for the rising was to be a bomb hurled from the roof of an hotel. Immediately the bomb was thrown, the disguised detectives drew concealed weapons and a hundred uniformed officers appeared and formed a cordon, arresting 20 dangerous armed agitators who were completely surprised. Not a shot was fired.
