Colonel Simpson, Inspoeffh General of Prisons in Bengal, bv three young Bengalis, in his office. Mr Nelson, Judicial Secretary, was wounded. The assailants entered the .secretary-7 Simpson’s room and fired six shots, buildings and forced their way into killing liiin instantly. then dashed along a verandah shooting wildly, entefed Nelson’s room and shot him in the leg.

One of the murderers then poisoned himself and the. other two shot themselves. They are at present in a critical condition.
