Forbes, Prime Minister of New Zealand, to-dav spent his final day in Britain in taking farewell. He called on the Prime Minister, Mr MacDonald. He placed a wreath on the Westminister Abbey tablet to the Empire’s million dead, and be also interviewed Sir Ernest Harvey, DeputyGovernor of the Bank of England. Mr Forbes, in ft is final statement paid a tribute to the hospitality shown him throughout Britain and Ireland. He .said that though the Imperial Conference decisions had not gone as lar as he had hoped they would have gone, some important decisions were reached There remained many undecided questions. He considered that the personal contacts with public and commerical leaders were most valuable. New Zealand sold the bulk of her products to Britain, and, as a matter of sentiment,she gave a preference to Britain through her Customs, and she desired th e fullest measure of preference. He hghly appreciated the goodwill that New Zealand and her products enjoyed in Britain. VISIT TO FRANCE. LONDON, December 6. Mr G .W. Forbes has departed to visit the Ypres battlefields. LONDON FAREWELL. ‘ LONDON, December 6. A crowd of' New Zealanders and others, led by Sir Thomas Wilford cheered thrice three times as Hon. G. W. Forbes and Sir Thomas Sidey. with their wives and staff, departed for France from the Victoria Station. Those present included Messrs J. H. Thomas, Hankey, Batterbee, Harding Desatej and Virtcenty (representing Mr MacDonald.) Mr Forbes is visiting the battlefields and Paris, and is ..catching the Ormonde at Toulon.
