AUSTRALIA’S TRADE
FAVOURABLE BALANCE. (A mtralian Press Association.) CANBERRA, December 4. A summary of Australian trade was issued to-day. It shows that the imports during the first four months of the present financial; year declined by almost fifty per cent., while at the same time the Australian trade bal- fiance moved from an adverse one in 1929 of almost sixteen millions ster- 3 ling to a favourable one this year of £4,921,308. ,i The imports for the period stated last year were £50,777,631.; worth or goods, while, Tor this year they declined to £27,212,158 worth. > SYDNEY, December 4, At to-day’s wool sales, the offerings were 11,105 bales, of which 10,193 were sold, also 1,355 privately. There was animated competition from all sections of the .trade. Prices were equal to those ruling yesterday,,, with, a special demand for superfine; wools, and a new Australian record for the season of 29f pence was realised for an offering from the Windsor in thia state.
