The Legislative Council debate is proceeding to-night on the second reading of the bill to repeal the Act, which stipulates the Legislative Council shall not be abolished until a referendum is held upon tlie subject. A division is not expected until midnight. REPEAL BILL PASSES. SYDNEY, December 3. The Repeal Bill was carried through all stages on the voices and sent on to the Assembly. It is believed an attempt will he made to test the validity of the measure in the courts. FROM PRESS CONFERENCE. SYDNEY, December 3. Among the Orford’s passengers who arrived in Sydney to-day were Messrs Gilmour and Blundell returning from the Press Conference. The former is sailing for New Zealand by. the Ulimaroa on Friday and Mr Blundell and' family, by. the Mamma on December 12th.
