THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES.
WOOL SALE PROBLEM. The number of bales offered at the first Christchurch wool Bale last season was 15,236. This year the offering at the first sale is limited .to 22,600 hales. Very nearly 10,00.0 bales of last season’s wool, which Vas held over from sale owing to low prices then ruling, is in the hands of farmers and brokers. It is expected that a considerable proportion of this wool, will be offered at the first sale, and., will, with consignments of new season’s wool corning in almost daily, make up the full catalogues. Some farmers, however f having held over the wool from last .season, have, the present intention of continuing to hold it until the second sale, by which time they hope the market will have bngh - cried.
