OBITUARY
W. R. S. HICKSON.

WELLINGTON December 1. The death of W. R- S. (Stan) Hickson occurred suddenly yesterday. He had been associated, with the A.AJ.P. Society for 38. years, and was a prominent player in his day, on the cricket and hockey fields. The late. Mr Hickson was well-known by people In many, walks of life and. was highly respected./:/;
i .He- was ;.bo.rn fifty-three years ago in Greyrnouth, where his father was manager of the-National Bank. Starting : .with the A.M.P. Society as a cadet, lie rose to the position of accountant.
As a. cricketer he gained Wellington representative honours. His first representative match was against Trott’s Australian Eleven in 1896, and another overseas team which he played against was WynyarcPs M. 0.0. team, which visited Wellington m 1906-7: His brother Claude was a New Zealand representative at hockey, and' he represented Wellington and the North Island. The late Air Hickson is survived by a widow, and three children (two girls : and a bov),
