BIG BANK SCANDAL
CABINET INVOLVED. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. J PARIS, November 28. M. Oustric, founder of the Oustric Bank, lias been arrested and charged with frauds exceeding, £10,000,000 by manipulating Bourse prices by means of a newspaper called “Bourse et Finance,” which published fictitious quotations.
Following M. Oust-ric’s arrest, M. Falcoz and LjAuthier, members of M. Tardieu’s Government, ( resigned, as they had relations with Che Outnc Bank and wished to lie free to explain their connection with the bank to the Commission of Inquiry, which has just been appointed. M. Tardieu then asked the House for Wv vote of confidence. After a passionate speech by the Premier and a stormy debate, in which the Opposition suggested that the Government was seriously affected in Oustric’s case, M. Tardieu received a vote of confidence by 293 to 279.
The smallness of the majority caused a sensation rjn Paris.
