ROTORUA, November 29

A parachute descent arranged by the Rotorua Aero Club ended unfortunately to-day, Captain Noah Jonnasson receiving injuries to his leg, the extent ot which will not be known till Xrayed. The sky was cloudless with a high wind blowing, when Flying Officer Money, in the monoplane Arawa took the air. 11 After climbing over 3000 feet, Thfi parachutist, Jonnasson, jumped. He was apparently descending under perfect control. The aerodrome was crowded, and the spectators, surmised that the parachutist was attempting to guide his machine away from the crowd. He landed in some adjacent scrub with considerable force. Ho was taken to King George .Hospital for treatment. He was suffering considerably from injuries and shock.

DORNIER DO-X FIRE

A WING DESTROYED

LONDON, November 29

A message from Lisbon states that the Dornier Do-X flying boat is on fire. LISBON, November 29.

The Do-X fire was due to a spark from an auxiliary battery. The crew aided bv local firemen and Portuguese firemen, saved the plane from total destruction. The repairs to the left wing will take several weeks, but are expected to prevent the machine* starting on an Atlantic flight in January.

AVIATOR’S LACK OF A PERMIT BERNE, November 29.

The Swiss Government has decided to expel an Italian aviator, Buzzolesis. The expulsion is based on Buzzolesis’s entry into Switzerland without a permit.
