The House of Representatives passed all stages of a bill enabling the Government to impose special rates ol taxation upon public servants in receipt of salaries above £750. MEAT STRIKE. SYDNEY, Nov. 27. A further effort to settle the meajt {strike is being made by a member of the Meat Board, Mr Osborne, who has not disclosed his proposals.. He is optimistic-regarding the outcome. WOOL PRICES. GOOD AT SYDNEY. SYDNEY, Nov. 25. At to-day’s wool sales 19,198 bales were offered, and 9,221 sold, while 822 were disposed of privately. Prices were firm, and competition was animated and well sustained. Medium and faulty lines, however, were irregular. Greasy merino made 191 d.
