The AVest Indies lost the first match of their tour, after a good showing. A couple of thousand saw Fairfax and Hunt give a good start to-day, they adding thirty-four. As the side was in danger of defeat, McCabe hatted, although he had a bad hand. Repeated bowling changes had no effect.
