MASTERTON FIRE
SPECTACULAR BLAZE. • Bv Telegraph—Brew Association). MASTER TON, November '54. A spectacular fire occurred in Masterton to-night when a large two-storey building, standing behind tile shop of Scouller and -Coy’s furniture wstre-J house in Queen Street, and used by the •firm- for storage and packing purposes, was discovered to -be a seetfiifng mass of flames. The discovery-was made by brigadesmen from the Fire Station, which is adjacent. The whole of the ; ■' interior of the building ivas a roaring ' t inferno when the brigade tackled the outbreak, but within half an hour it •was under control. The brigade pievented the flames from spreading into an adjoining building on the south aide, partly occupied by T. Wagg, gar- :;; age proprietor, and W. G. Perry, gram-"; ophone dealer.
