Bowling analysis': Chilvers 5 for <3, Fairfax 1 for 57, McCabe 1 for 31, Hunt 1 for 35, Stewart 0 for 38. The wicket was soft when play was resumed ‘to-day, 'half an hour late. The overnight batsmen, Headley and Grant, carried the score to 159, when the firjst-named wfts smartly caught by Bradman at second slip off Chilvers. (Four for 159). This pair had put on 95 runs.
Bartlett then-jolficd Grant; but the latter went before a run was added. 1 Constantine wa&- applauded as he appeared, and while the tail did theii best to keep their wickets up, he delighted the onlookers with crisp hitting, rattling up- 59 runs, including four sixers, in a. little over twenty minuteie. The fielding was keen, When the West Indies were all out, the tea adjournment was taken.

McCabe’s thumb was injured in stopping a hot one from Headley, and Fingleton acted as substitute for tlie remainder of the Most Indies innings. Kippax ifi suffering from influenza. Oldfield acted as captain. Jackson in the opening, partnership with Bill, set a merry pace in New South Wales’ second innings. The latter, however, had a couple of narrow escapes, and was finally out leg before. Bradman took many risks, and he went cheaply. Allsopp and Oldfield were victims to : the versatile Constantine. PICKING THE TEAM FOR ENGLAND. WELLINGTON, November 25. At a meeting of the Wellington Cricket Association, the management committee, the chairmfin Mr R. B. Broad, invited an expression of opinion upon the advisability of holding trial matches in order to pick the New Zealand team for England. Mr Hanna said there would he only about four players to select after the certainties had been written down. He considered the selectors to be quite competent- to complete the team without going to the expense of holding trial matches. Mr W. Christopher thought that a North v. South Island trial match, would be the best draw. It was decided to leave the matter over till next meeting. CRICKETER INJURED. DURBAN, Nov. 24. Sandham was hospitalled with a gash in the forehead, involved in a car accident. It is not serious.
