“(Vim are t..ey?” the King asked the Queen when driving through the gateway of Buckingham Cala.cc to-day, returning from Sandringham when they saw eighteen strapping girls lined up curtseying, 'Hie King learnt from the. ’ Lord-in-Waiting that the girls were members of the Australian Hotkey lea in and asked for them to be presented'. The. girls were inert excited at the unexpected honour and tiled into the drawing room where Mrs 'Davy, manager of the team, was presented to their Majesties. She then presented Miss Wick the captain and all the seventeen, and members with wliom their Majesties shook hands and chatted. “It was a most marvellous adventure,” said Mrs Davy afterwards. “Their Majesties asked whether we enjoyed' the tour, and I replied the whole tour was most delightful. We had not had a worrying moment. The girls said ,the same, but meeting the King and Queen was the greatest of thrills.”

The Hockey players leave for Amsterdam on November 27fn and after playing Holland, Germany and Belgium depart for Australia' by tbe Naldera from Marseilles on December 17 th,
