A Belfast civil servant who had been unable to .sell the last hook of tickets shared it with a local barman. He drew the first prize of £204,701 in the Irish sweep, but as he had sold half the ticket lor £3,500 their net win is £102,382. The newsapers point out that the Irish Sweep cost almost as much, in expenses as the £131,724 it provided for Irish hospitals.
