HUNTER WILL CASE
(By Telegraph— Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 21. The Hunter will case was continued to-night, and was then adjourned till December loth. Evidence was this afternoon given by R. A. Wright and W. H. Field, M.P.’s, who declared that all their associations with Sir George Hunter about the end of 1929 indicated that he was perfectly mentally alert. Percy Wooll, sheep farmer, of Hawkes Bay, and W. G .Hunter (a cous.'n of Sir George), Edward Gilbertson (a retired county engineer), Rev. lirierly (Vicar of Porangalmu), and several station hands said Sii George’s capacity and understanding were unimpaired. Cyril Paul Hunter, a nephew, was cross-examined at length concerning a bequest Of £SOOO which he sad, had been promised him by Sir George ns a wedding gift thrireen years ago. He was in the box for two and a-quaiter hours. He said he had hesitated to speak about the promise until he realised tne possibility of Sir George dying. Then he had though it advisable to ask Sir George’s solicitor, Mr Dunn, to take a iavouralde opportunity to remind Sir George of the promise. His Honour said that he could understand a man of decency not des'ritig to approch Sir George direct') - on a subject of this nature. Witness admitted that Lady Hunter’s whole attitude had been to preserve the estate lor the daughter. Referring to Sir George’s mental capacity, he said he thought he was perfectly capable of making a will. The case was adjourned to December loth to permit the calling of Dr Duncan, who attended Sir George at Rotorua.
