MOTUROA OIL
AN IMPROVING FLOW. [By Telegraph, Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH. November 17. Oil continues to flow steadily from the Moturoa Oil Fields Ltd., No. 1 bore, and during the week ending last Saturday, the bore was drilled to 3220 feet in sandy shale one hundred gallons of oil being haled during the drilling operations. The well also flowed three hundred gallons of oil from the 2300 feet horizon. The company propose drilling to 3330 feet, and then testing again. Since the blowout on October 26th, the well has produced 100 barrels, the equivalent to 3600 gallons. The Managing Director of the Company. Mr C. N. Taylor, stated to-day: “When it is considered that all this oil has been obtained in the progress of drillings, and that only a few days have been set aside for actual testing, the results can lie considered very satisfactorv.”
