The Air Ministry experts have perfected a portable catapult’ for sboot r ing up aeroplanes, obviating the necessity of large aerodromes. The Fairey Napier bomber was successfully launched in a space of thirty-,-,yards. Wheel brakes enabled the plane to land in the same space. A combination of inventions and the fact that the catapult can be packed up and transported by motor tractor, will increase the mobility of fighting, planes with Armies, especially where aero-' dromes are lion-C'xiistent.
