SATURDAY, NOVEMBER loth
A particularly enjoyable programme has been arranged for this evening’s session at JYA. There will be items by the IYA String Octet, Ernest and AVendy Luks, Barry .Ingall’s Hawaiians, and the Basiiam-Briggs Duo, who will provide both solos and duets. The 2YA concert programme will also be a vaudeville nature. The Salon Orchestra, under Mr M. T. Dixon, will contribute. Soprano solos will be sung by Mrs Amy Dunn and tenor solos by Air Stewart Nelson, will include a number from Woodforde-Fin-den’s “Pagoda of Flowers” and the solo “Love’s own Kiss” from the musical comedy “High Jinks.” Air Erie Harrison, baritone, will be heard in two ballad numbers. Popular spngs at the piano will be featured by Air Billy Hart, and Mr Will Yates, the popular entertainer, will he heard in several humorous numbers of his arranging. The Golden Hula Quintette, a combination specialising in Hawaiian music, will contribute several South Sea Island numbers to this programme.
A party of entertainers called the “Radio Rascals” will provide a vaudeville concert from.3YA (to be broadcast also by 4YA). The programme will he of the continuous type, chor-
tires sketches, songs and recitations succeeding one another rapidly in one connected series. A number of excerpts from musical plays will he heard. The sketches will include “Horses,” “Hats, “Afadamoiselle,” “The Eternal Triangle” and “Before and After.” Among the solos will he “Dunn,” “Five and Twenty Sailormen,” “Yonder” and “Cloze Props.” A male quartette will sing “Noll Alcßae” and there will he several duets The final will be “Songs of Yesterday.” The Church Services to he broadcast on Sunday evening will he:-

The urogram me from 3YA. will b° nrevided bv the AVoblston Band under Mr R.. J. Estall. There will he some splendid numbers. The vocalists for the evening will lie Mrs Leonard B. Salkeld (soprano') and Air AV. Rofe (bass). An instruinentail programme will be given by the Christchurch Broadcasting Trio. Airs Salkeld will he remembered as soprano soloist in “ATerrie England” when presented in the Civic Theatre by the Christchurch Harmonic Society.
Some of Dunedin’s artists to appear at JYA this 1 evening will be: Aliss Alary Pratt (contralto). Aliss ATolly Vickers (soprano), Air Ernest Drake ('tenor'). Air George Salmond (baritone) and Mr F*. C. Cooper (ba=s) . Such a combination is certain to present a very fine programme. The eloeutioniste will be Alms Kathleen Qua ife and all the instrumental items are being provided bv the Studio Trio and All’s Drake, Studio Pianiste. Silent dav at IYA.
