SOCIALIST ASPECT
(United Pries Ais»ociation—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright).
LONDON, Nov. 14
An untouched aspect of the Imperial Conference is ; mentioned .by the ‘‘Daily Telegraph’s” gossipor, “‘Peter Borough,’’ \yho expresses the opinion', that not the least remarkable feature of the attitude of the British Social-, ist Government has been tire effect produced on the international status of the' Socialist movement. Mr Sc-til-lin, at the head of a L.alxmr Government, was for that reason hopeful that his proposals would receive an especially sympathetic hearing, for it is the boast of the Socialists that their’s is a worldwide movement, inspired by common aims. To the astonishment of Mr Scullin and of his they find that there is onlv one party with which they could talk business, namely, the Conservatives.
One delegation said: “Tt is a curious thing that, if the Conservatives had been in office, wo probably would have been leaving with some very •useful agreed resolutions.”
