RADIO PROGRAMME

(Supplied by the Radio Broadcasting Company of N.Z. Ltd.) FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14th. There will be a; scientific talk by Mr Fred F. Field from IYA and a talk on “Radio Installations” from 2YA by Mr Colin Smith. The instrumental music at IYA this evening will be provided by the Studio Trio and will include a violin solo by Mr W. Waugh. Mr S. C. Lewis, the popular clarinet soloist, will be heard in several numbers, and Mr Cyril Towsey in a pianoforte solo. Miss Maisie Carte-Lloyd' and Mr Alan Me. Skimming will give three humorous duologues. The vocalists will, be Madame Alary Towsey (mezzo soprano) and Mr John Bree (baritone), singing as usual sonie very fine numbers. The programme will conclude with a gramophone lecture-recital to be given by a “Commentator.”

From 2YA Studio the Wellington Operatic and Theatrical Society will present a programme of excerpts from comic operas and musical comedies.— “Florodor ” “Our Miss Gibbs,” “The Belle of New York” and “Toreador.” The Orhcestrina will provide the incidental music.

The Bniley-Afartson Dance Orchestra lias been engaged' bo provide the dance music session from 3YA. The preceding concert programme will be of a very popular nature. Miss Elaine Moody’s Hawaiian Trio; with steel guitars and ukelele, will play some of the latest Hawaiian and other airs, with vocal refrains by Miss Moody. Mr Jock Lockhart, Scottish humorist, will contribute two session full of risible remarks. v The popular Mascots will present two sketches, “The Baggage” and “The Miracle.” Light baritone solos will be sung by Mr Arthur T. Couch. There will be a “Mozart” evening at 4YA when tlie whole programme trail be devoted entirely to the works of that famous composer.

A lecture will be given by Mr Max Seherek President of the Otago Society of Musicians. The singers for the evening will be the Harmonists Quartet—Miss Mae Matheson, Miss M. S. Green, Mr H. A. Johnston and Mr S. Falconer. Mr Max Seherek and a String Quintet will provide the instrumental programme.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15th. A particularly enjoyable programme lias been arranged tor this evening’s session at 1A A. There will be items by tlie IYA String Octet, Ernest and Wendy Rules, Barry Ingalls Hawaiia ns, and tlie Basnam-Briggs Duo, who will provide both solos and duets. The 2Y A concert programme, will also be a vaudeville nature. The Salon Orchestra, under Mr M. T. Dixon, will contribute. Soprano solos will be sung by Airs Amy Dunn and tenor solos by.Mr Stewart Nelson, will include a number from Woodforde-Fi 11den’s “Pagoda of Flowers” and the solo “Love’s own Kiss” from the musical comedy “High Jinks.” Air Eric Harrison, baritone, will be heard in two ballad numbers. Popular songs at the piano will be featured by Air Billy Hart, and Air Will Yates, the popular entertainer, will be heard in several humorous numbers of his arranging, The Golden Hula Quintette., a combination specialising in Hawaiian music, will contribute several South Sea Island numbers to this programme. A party of entertainers called the “Radio Rascals” will provide a vaudeville concert from 3YA (to be broadcast also by 4YA). Tlie programme will be of the continuous type, chorures sketches, songs and recitations succeeding one. another rapidly in one connected series. A number of excerpts from musical plays will he heard. The sketches will include “Horses,” “Hats, “Madamoiselle,” “The Eternal Triangle” and “Before and After.” Among the solos will be “Puna,” “Five and Twenty Sailormen,” “Yonder” and “Cloze Props.” A male quartette will sing “Noll Mcßae” and there will be several duets. The final will be “Songs of Yesterday.”
