GARDEN’S CLOSE CALL.

ON FLIGHT TO SYDNEY

SYDNEY, November 13

The airman Garden, arrived at Mascot this afternoon from Melbourne, after a very humpy passage. He stopped at Canberra en route. The airman had a narrow escape from injury. On bis plane coming to a standstill after landing, a heavy gust of wind struck it at an angle. The machine tipped over on the wing, and it balanced on the wing for a few seconds. Then the plane fell hack on its wheels undamaged. During the journey, Garden sometimes fell or shot upwards hundreds of feet, this being due to air pockets. FRENCH FLIERS. SYDNEY, November 13. The Wakefield Coy, have been advised that tie French aviators Lalloiite and Goulette (who, as cabled yesterday, flew ill two days from France to India) are continuing their voyage to Australia.
