LATE LOCALS.

The Union Company’s new Monowai, ex Razmuk, which arrived at Wellington yesterday, carries as wireless operator, Mr J. W. Stannage, who is familiar as operator for SquadronLeader Kingsford-Smith on the Atlantic flight. Mr Stannage’s service on tho Atlantic flight earned him the Certificate of Honour of tho Veteran Radio Operators’ Association, a distinction which is internationally recognised. He is also among the probables for the medal awarded for the greatest wireless deed of the year. Mr Stannage elected to return to New Zealand, although he was offered tempting positions in London and in the United States,
