Considerable opposition has been voiced by local bodies and individuals to the leasing by the Auckland Har-' hour Board of sections for purpose ol establishing a Chinese market, ancl the Board, when granting the application, is said is to have been unaware of all . the circumstances, but yesterday'the Board’.s solicitors stated that the Supreme Court would grant a decree for specific performance of the lease’ in. favour of the company. The Board,, therefore, decided to execute the. lease.
The local bodies’ protest was generally, based .on the opposition to peaceful penetration ay Asiatics.
