SERIOUS TAXI SMASH. By Telegraph—Per Press Association.! ASHBURTON, November 12. Noel Wilson aged 22, a farm labourer is in the hospital with a fractured base of the skull as a result of a taxi colliding with a pole in Green early this morning. Herbert Louis Tremani, aged 26, owner and driver of the taxi is also in the hospital suffering severe head injuries and shock. Tremain states he dozed at the wheel, Wilson is critically ill. A. third nmn, who was asleep in the rear seat, was also severely cut. about the' head and legs. The taxi was wrecked. SUPREME COURT. GISBORNE, November 12. At the. Supreme Court, a native woman, Ani Kouka who a year ago was before the Court on a charge of arson, and was ordered to come up for sentence when called on, was again arrainged for a similar offence having made another attempt to burn down a neighbour’s house. The defence alleged provocation, and a long standing fued between neighbours. Justice Blair ordered reformative detention for twelve months.
