During a gale eighteen men aboard the lumber schooner Brooklyn met their death when 'they 'attempted to steam out of Humboldt Harbour, late on Saturday. The little schooner was landed over and sunk. Two mountainous waves struck her simultaneously at the entrance to the harbour. The vessel sank in five minutes. •VANCOUVER, November 9. The schooner Brooklyn. outward bound, timber laden stryick a notorious bar and reef off Eureka, California. was overwhelmed and lost with the whole crew of nineteen.
