Three Charges were preferred against Francis Jack, at Kotiiku, at the Magistrate's Court Greymoulh, on Saturday morning, they being (1) being drunk in a, railway carriage, (2) wilfully assaulting ’William Huston; and (3) procuring liquor during the currency of a prohibition order, He pleaded guilty to all the charges. Sen-ior-Sergeant Roach stated that the defendant had in January last, been, convicted of theft and wilful damage, and had been ordered to coino up for sentence within 12 months if called upon. On Friday last he had boarded the train at Aickens to travel to Kotuku, and had endeavoured to enter tho guard's van, The guard, Ralston, had prevented him, and defendant had struck him.
