To lYA’s programme this evening, the String (Jctei util contribute several ngni numbers. • Mister Kee will give some more ol Jus itauio Magic, Miss Nellie Eingard (contralto; will sing several biillaus, while Miss Gladys Tlosivin (soprano; and Mr A. L. Macplierson (.tenor), will be lieard in a number of (Scottish solus aud duets.

A talk by the “Weather Mali” Dr Kiclson of the Meteorological Office, on the interesting subject 01 weather forecasting will be broadcast from 21'A at 7.40 p.m. The contributing artists on gllA's "auueville programme will be Melodie Four, Mr it. Stratmore (who plays concertina sobs), Miss Majorie Bennie Mr \\ ill Bishop and the Salon Orchestra. The Melodie Four items will comprise quartettes and solo numbers. Mr Will Bishop, the popular comedian, will entertain listeners in his usual inimitable style with some of his own compositions.

From 3YA and 4YA, a great variety of items will be broadcast. Popular songs will be sung by Mr Leslie Stuart and bass sols by Mr Leslie Fleming. These latter will be “Glorious Devon,” “Nancy Lee” and “Gipsy John.” The Rose and Thistle Duo will contribute popular siongs at the piano with banjolene. Mr A. E. Hutton one of the finest flautists in Christchurch, will play two items. Mr N. Newson will give two sketches at the piano and a popular instrumental programme will be provided by the Studio Octet.

Church services to be broadcast on Sunday will be: ’ IYA—St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Rev. I. Bertram.

2 Y A—Trinity Methodist Church. Preacher, Rev. T. W. Venlie. 3YA— Christchurch Anglican Cathedral. 4YA—St. Paul’s Cathedral. MONDAY, NOVEMBER 10th. A Book of Review by Mr H. C. South will lie broadcast from 2YA at 7i.40 p.m. 2YA’s programme this evening will be devoted to a special studio presentation of Spohr’s oratorio “The Last Judgment,” to be presented by the combined Anglican Church choirs of Wellington. Tine soloists will be Miss Dorothy Russell (soprano), Mrs Ray Kemp (contralto), Mr Roy Hill (tenor) and Mr Ray Kemp (bass). Mr Binet Brown will also assist with quartet numbers. The choir will perform under the conductorship of Mr W. A. Gatheridge and the pianist will be Miss Iris Mason. The supporting items will he played by Signor Truda’s Orchestrina. A dialogue 1 on “The -Story of the Garden,” being elementary botany as applied to garden plants, will be given by Messrs E. E. Wiltshire and F. C. Fairclough from. 3YA at 7.30 p.m. This will be the first of a series of such talks. The popular New Brighton Band under Conductor J. Nuttall will provide 3YA’s concert. The assisting artists on what will be a very bright programme will he Miss Lottie Colville (soprano)* Mr G. R. Williamson (tenor), Mr H. Instone (humorist) and the Christchurch Broadcasting Trio. Included in the band items will be a cornet duet by Bandsmen J. Nuttall and H. Wilkins.

Unique and novel will be 4YA’s programme. It is entitled “A West County Revel.” The items on the programme will be typical of the West Counties of England. Characteristic music will lie played by the orchestra and numerous folk songs will be sung. Silent day at IYA.
