NEW GOVERNMENT’S DECISION

SYJANEY, November 7
Hon. Air Baddeley, the State Minister of Labour, has informed the Union secretaries that the Government intends to pay the full basic wage to all relief workers, and that the Government will insist on preference to unionists, and will provide full rations for all of the single unemployed workers.
The Government has remitted all of the fines upon persons convicted of lawlessness on the coalfields during the protracted strike. It is reported that the Government also intends to re-introduce the 44-hour week in all of the industries which have hitherto enjoyed it.
