• •• K RECORD ENTRY. f (By Telegraph—Press Association) . WELLINGTON. November 7. The New Zealand Championship Band contest is to be held in Wellington from February 23 to 28 next. It '* promises to be the greatest band festical ever held in the Dominion. Record entries have been received, and there will be 34 bands competing, representative of well over 1000 bandsmen. The bands are as follows: A Grade:—South Battalion (Invercargill), Oamaru Mounted Rifles, Auckland Artillery, Invercargill Civic, St. Kilda Municipal (Dunedin), Kaikorai (Dunedin), Woolston (Christchurch), Queen Alexander (Wanganui), Wanganui Garrison, Palmerston North Garrison, Timaru Municipal, Wellington Tramways, Port Nicholson Silver.

B. Grade:—Westport Municipal, Christchurch Municipal, Oamaru Municipal, Nelson Garrison, Dunedin Tramways, Te Aroha Municipal, Birkenhead Borough (Auckland), Napier Citizens, Carterton Municipal, Hastings Citizens, Masterton Municipal, Taranaki Regimental (New Plymouth), Hawera Municipal, Tauranga Municipal, Ashburton Silver, Waikato Regimental (Hamilton), Lower Hutt Municipal, Petone Central, Miramar Silver, Royal Naval Volunteers, Reserve (Wellington), Jupps Silver (Wellington).
